Stitch Instructions and Definitions
Continual Round:  Instead of joining, work a single crochet in top of the first stitch. Working a continual round will eliminate the unsightly seam that occurs with joining a round.

Yarn Marker: A yarn marker is used to identify the first/last stitch of each round. This is so you have an idea when to change rounds with your instructions.  I use left over yarn tails, which are convenient, easy and free.


Chain 4, join with the beginning chain.

Round 1:  Work 10 single crochet through the chain. This is working around the chain, putting your hook through the center of the chain.  (10 single crochet total)
Round 2-6: Work 1 single crochet in each stitch around.  (10 single crochet total)
Round 7: Work 2 SC in each stitch around.  (20 single crochet total)
Round 8: Work 1 SC in the next stitch, work 2 SC in the next stitch  (30 single crochet total)
Round 9: Work 1 SC in the next stitch around (30 single crochet total)
Round 10: Work 1 SC in ea of the next two stitches, work 2 SC in the next stitch  (40 single crochet total)
Round 11: Work 1 SC in ea stitch around  (40 single crochet total)


Scarf:  Work a chain of 45
Round 1: Work 1 SC in each stitch across
Round 3-8: CH 1, Work 1 SC in each stitch across


Fringe: Cut several strands of yarn 4-6 inches in length. To attach, fold the strand in half, insert your hook through the yarn. Put the hook through the end of the scarf, wrap the yarn strands over, pull through and secure.
