Abbreviations
SC - Single Crochet
HDC - Half Double Crochet
CH - Chain
SL ST - Slip Stitch
Materials
Size H/5 mm crochet hook
4 ply yarn
Tapestry Needle
Single Crochet Decrease
Insert your hook through the stitch, wrap the yarn over, pull through, there are two loops on the hook, leave the loops on the hook.
Chain 3 , join.
Round 1: Ch 1, work 8 SC through the loop. Work in a continual round, instead of joining, work a single crochet in top of the beginning stitch.
Round 2: Work 2 SC in each stitch around - (16 single crochet total)
Round 3-8: Work 1 SC in each stitch around - (16 single crochet total)
Round 9: Work 8 single crochet decrease
Stuff the body with fiberfill, sew shut.
Eye: Work a French knot through the center of the face wrapping the yarn around the tapestry need 4 times.
Wing: CH 4, SL ST in the first chain, CH 4, SL ST in the center, CH 5, SL ST in the center, CH 4, SL ST in the center, CH 4, SL ST in the center. Make 2, sew evenly to the sides. Knot, secure and hide the tail.
Beak: Ch 3, SL ST in the first chain, Ch 3, SL ST in the 3rd chain from the hook. Attach the beak to the center of the face, below the eyes. Sew across the center of the beak, knot, secure and hide the tail.
Feet: CH 3, SL ST in the first chain, CH 4, SL ST in the first chain, CH 4, SL ST in the first chain, Make 2 and sew in place. knot, secure and hide the tails
